Interesting article as usual, Tim.

It's generally known in the familiy/survivors of suicide that in
retrospect s that several things seem to happen just before a person
does it.

First, there is an elevation of mood, and an apparentl sense of clarity
one the decision has been made. The seem to be almost peacefull once
they have accpted that they are going to do it.

They tend to get their affairs in order, give away things they love to
people who will love them ,too

They generally make phone calls that seem fine but in retospect are
clearly I'm calling totell you all thethings I want you to know, and I
am saying good bye.

On the day my mother did it, on her day off from work, she went out for
a little shopping and atually bought the little outfit that she was
buried in. She also bought nice little gifts, all store gift wrapped
for each of her grandchildren.

We found them all in the trunk of her car.

She had gone to great trouble to make it look like a one car, fatal car
accident.
The tox screen at the morg.....probably at the hospital, too, revealed
a severe overdose had caused the heart attack on the freeway.

I got the choroner's call. No one else knew. I figured she'd tried so
hard to cover it up that there was no point in me telling the others.

I wish I didn't know so muh on this topic.
