My Metabolism and or chemical make-up in my mixed up brain went from
Manic to extreme haywire manic with Effexor.Started with 75 mg. upped to
150mgs. this was in a time frame of give or take 1 Month.Plus I was
being weaned of Floxitine(prozac) after 4 yrs. {through different
opinions and diagnosis my Body or mind grew Immune to the Floxitine??}
I'm as of now being weaned off the Effexor..(75mg again) Now after 2
weeks of Lithium, not as Manic, but feel as though I'm in a state of
frickin Limbo. Still waiting for an Appointment to see an Actual
Psychiatrist to finally determine if I'm Bi-polar.Plus I just Lost my
Job today because as my supervisor stated my "personality to fluxual
crew-wise and certain job responsibilities she couldn't trust me is
stress-reactions.Hmm Maybe so, but my mind as of now is in the state of
Limbo.Man is This getting Old! Nom..Or anyone out there got any
suggestions? Or is it a waiting, cross-my-fingers Trip? Help..Joee

I am on Effexor 375mg however I was on Cipramil for three years before
it suddenly stopped working and I went down hill so fast. No one ever
said my body got used to the drug but it's how it seemed. Why do they
just stop working no matter how much you take of it??

I tried about 5 other drugs after Cipramil to finally get a half decent
result with Effexor (but still experimenting with the dose).

My answer here: it just keeps going and going (I'ts been nearly 12
months for me) and I always say it's like being a science rat - they
poke and prodd and feed us all sorts of drugs to see which one suits us
the best. It's the waiting game alright!

Coming off and going onto a new one is the hardest part and can be very
debilitating. I can only say - keep it up and I hope you find the right
drug and right dose for you sooner rather than later.
