Hi,

Been a long time since my last "episode" (about 10 years), but at the moment
gone through a period of depression, but now I am pacing like a caged
animal, I am racing along and don't like it, my new doc still hasn't really
cottoned onto what is happening, my previous doc was really good, had me on
AD's, Tegretol and Haliperidol, that worked a treat, but now I am only on
effexor, which fine sorts out the depression, but the other side of my life
is exploding with ...... Please talk to me !!!

Hi Phil,

as you probably know that a change of meds can cause some problems and
need time to work properly. Just hang in there until things get better.

changing docs sucks big time, it's like starting all over again.

Hi Phil,

as you know changing meds and finding the right mixture will take a
while. So just hang in there and wait for the better to come. :)

as for changing docs it really sucks, it feels like starting all over
again.

If you don't like your doc ask your insurance company to help find a
new one. My last doc closed his practice and the insurance company
helped me find a new one. I'm quite pleased with him. My first two
pdocs were jerks, one actually fired me when he got my meds wrong and
blamed me for the problem he created.

Phil, I am on Efexor XR and while it's good - you get to maintain more
memory and better concentration than other drugs it was no good just by
itself for me. I am also taking Epilim 800mg to stabilise the mood so
i'm told. Perhaps you need something else as well as Efexor?

Don't know where you are located but some GP's here in Australia are
absolutely useless and it's so hard to find the right one. I was
recommended to go through the public health system who actually pays
the good psychiatrists to see the public patients. It's supposed to be
the next best thing to private insurance (which I don't have). My
psychiatrist guy is old and seems to know what he's talking about when
prescribing stuff.

Oh also I forgot one more thing, I also get to take valium as required.
I get terribly anxious/stressed too and valium settles you down quick
smart - it can be addictive but I only take it when I need it. Might
work for you??
